ISO standards of testing hand torque wrenches changed in 2019. The standard is much more stringent and controlled, using uncertainty data gathered on a test rig to determine the accuracy of the readings.

ISO 6789 – 2:2017 Is the new calibration standard. The test rig is used to gather uncertainty data, whilst also controlling speed and technique to determine the torque peak measurement.

The data produced is then used to create a certificate of calibration.
